Nightmares are primal fears personified and no fear is so primal as the fear of being hunted. To be chased by some terror, beast or other, that seeks to do us harm. In these dreams our limbs betray us, physics works against us and no matter how hard we try, how fast we run, the monster behind us will always catch up.
Avisk knew this and used this primal fear to craft the first Nightmare Crucible. He took the primal fear of every living being, and wove it into a web that would contain the creatures he sought to study.
This key is that that fear solidified, and you need only be brave enough to assume the role of the hunter, not the prey.
