A magical stone with the ability to absorb the ambient anima around it. On Ashenfall, the rocks hover in the air as if resting on some invisible structure, held aloft by invisible currents of magical energy.
With the right equipment and skill, Rune Essence can be infused with certain magical resonances, taking on the elemental power of the air or the flame.
This discovery is one of Guthix’s greatest triumphs and perhaps his most enduring miracle.
