It was the dwarves who first discovered adamant: a metal so strong and powerful that it could turn aside almost any other blade. It was hard to work with and difficult to refine, so it saw little use in the early ages.
Malgo, druid of Guthix, was one of the first to see the worth in adamant. It was an age before dwarves were cursed by Zamorak to be unable to use magic without severe consequence, and Malgo was one of the greatest spellcasters of his people. He joined the ranks of the Guthixian druids, even though - like many dwarves - he was only a follower of Guthix, rather than a worshipper.
