Mankind has always struggled against the darkness. The shadows hide a multitude of dangers, each of them longing to tear us apart. It is no surprise, then, that light has been weaponised. Simple wood and wrappings introduced to a flame; one then carries a small fragment of the day's protection in their hand.
Although shadows are banished by its radiance, it serves as a poor defence against steel or claw.
