Power, trapped in dragonstone crystal and worn around the neck, that is the essence of this amulet. The facets of the dragonstone refract and refine the enchantments cast upon the item, somehow creating a magical lattice of surprising strength.

Many have tried to create variations of this theme, yet dragonstone proves too fragile a substance for practical use. Once someone attempted to make a dragonstone dagger, to see if they could turn it into a blade of glory, yet they could not find a sufficiently large stone that wasn't valuable enough to bankrupt a small nation.

One wizard attempted strange alchemical practices to try and forge a staff of pure dragonstone. Alas, not only did he fail to create such a stone, but the magical explosion that resulted from his hubris removed his lab, and all his research, from this plane of reality.

It's probably a good idea that no one attempted to duplicate his work.
