Climb the turrets of Dowdun Reach in its prime, and you would have found the Black Knight Snipers. These were the elite marksmen of the Black Knights, tasked with looking outward when the rest of the order would look inward. They would scan the skyline for threat - for the beating wings of a dragon. There was no greater trophy for the Black Snipers.
One one occasion, a bolt was loosed at Imaru. She had arrived at the keep for diplomatic purposes, and was rewarded with a bolt to the neck. You could see the conflict within her, as her urges were swallowed. For a second, a disdainful eye moved to the Black Sniper. But she reset and continued to talk to Lord Rasmodel and Alric like nothing happened.
Restraint was certainly beaten into the Black Snipers that night.
