It's like the maple tree wants to be cut down. Not only does it produce hardy, versatile wood for tools and weaponry, it bleeds sap that is only a single step away from being maple syrup. If you want proof of the gods' existence in RuneScape, you need only look at maple trees.
The maple tree gets its revenge in subtle ways. Its sap is inordinately sticky and too much syrup will give you a paunch. They're small victories, but the maple tree takes them.
