It is said that Guthix created the first fortifying soup, as a gift for his chief druids. While the first few attempts resulted in terrible food poisoning — Guthix was a god, not a chef — the perfected recipe soon became a favourite once he mixed in mushrooms. This was because the mushrooms absorbed much of the toxins, making it much more palatable.
