Big axes are always popular among the violent crowd. In the Umbral Sands, a gathering of warrior Moon Garou gathered to show off who had the larger axe. Whilst the obvious innuendoes dogged the experience, in truth it was a competition among blacksmiths to see who could create the most powerful blade for the warriors to wield.
The adamant greataxe was created to showcase the raw power of the metal, and it was used with great zeal against a contingent of rampaging kalphites on hot summer. Seven warriors strode into the hive, axes held high and for the first time in a very long time, seven warriors emerged mostly unscathed.
Now, the greataxe is considered a good luck charm by any warrior Moon Garou who are strong enough to wield one.
